How to maintain silver jewelry

Many people wear some silver jewelry. However, silver jewelry always turns yellow and black inadvertently, which affects the appearance. So how to maintain silver jewelry, let's take a look at my experience below!

1. Silver jewelry should be worn frequently. Often wearing silver jewelry is not only good for people, but also good for silver. The oils and other substances on the human body can make silver jewelry shiny and beautiful. Silver jewelry that is not worn can easily turn yellow.

2. The silver jewelry should be sealed and stored when not being worn. In many cases, the yellowing and blackening of silver jewelry is caused by oxidation, so be sure to put silver jewelry in a small airtight bag when not wearing it. If there is no special bag for storing silver jewelry, you can use ordinary plastic jewelry bags.

3. Do not take off the silver bracelet often. Silver bracelets are easily deformed regardless of high purity or low purity. Deformed silver jewelry is difficult to restore to its original state, and it needs to be sent to a silver jewelry store for correction.

4. After the silver jewelry turns yellow, wipe it with silver paper. Generally, silver jewelry that has turned yellow can be restored to its previous brightness by wiping it with silver paper. If there is no effect after wiping with silver paper, you can use silver washing liquid, but after using the silver washing liquid, you must rinse it with a lot of water to prevent the residual silver washing liquid from corroding silver jewelry.

5. Some carved silver ornaments should not be cleaned with silver washing liquid. Some fine carvings are easily corroded by the silver wash. Therefore, we must be careful when using silver washing liquid to clean silver jewelry. Glossy silver jewelry such as silver bracelets can be cleaned with silver washing liquid, but it must be rinsed after washing.

6. Avoid contact with sulfur soap and acid solution for silver jewelry. Because sulfur and silver react chemically, acidic solutions can corrode silver.

Note: Do not wear silver jewelry when soaking in hot springs, and try not to touch the sea water, these will damage the silver jewelry.
